Being Post “Post”
I’ve spent years being post—post-modern, post-racial, post-church—always looking backward, assuming the best was behind us. But lately, I’ve begun to see that “post” points in the wrong direction. It implies loss, decline, aftermath.
Faith doesn’t call us to live after something—it calls us to live before something. To prepare, to anticipate, to hope.
So I’m learning to repent of the post and embrace the pre.
Pre-tomorrow.
Pre-justice.
Pre-Kingdom.
John cried, “Turn to the Pre.” Jesus echoed him. The apostles carried the same cry forward. And now, in a world obsessed with endings, I’m daring to believe in beginnings again—the Kingdom that is near.
